Germany’s Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, announced that the German government has prioritized the transfer of Afghan asylum seekers with legal acceptance from Pakistan by the end of 2025.

Visas will be issued, and flights for nearly two thousand asylum seekers will take place by the end of December, with the resettlement process continuing after the beginning of 2026.

The German Foreign Minister also noted that around 650 asylum seekers with conditional acceptance may have their applications rejected; this decision falls under the authority of the Interior Ministry. This measure is part of Germany’s policy to support refugees and manage migration.

The German Foreign Minister called for the acceptance of all Afghan asylum seekers who have received a formal acceptance from the country and have binding legal commitments for support.
