Amid the tightening of Pakistan’s security policies, the detention of Afghan refugees has increased in the cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Videos obtained by Awj News show Afghan refugees being arrested in the F-18 sector and the Faisal Town residential area.
Some refugees report that after being detained, they were released upon paying large sums of money.
According to them, the detention of Afghan migrants has become an organized extortion process, causing severe psychological pressure on the refugees.
