Uzbekistan has announced that in 2025, the largest number of business trips to the country were made by Afghan nationals.
According to statistics from Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Agency, during the first ten months of the current year, approximately 339,585 Afghan citizens entered the country, primarily for trade and economic activities. This figure places Afghanistan at the top of the list of countries with the highest number of business travelers to Uzbekistan.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has sought to strengthen its economic relations with neighboring countries by simplifying visa regulations and expanding transit routes. In this context, Afghan traders have benefited the most from these facilities, with the number of their business trips reported to be significantly higher than those from regional countries such as Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
