Afghanistan’s Ministry of Finance Announces Complete Ban on All Pakistani Medicines from February 9

The Ministry of Finance of the Kabul administration has announced that, starting February 9, 1404 (Dalwa 20), the import of all medicines produced in Pakistan will be fully halted.

Under this directive, traders have only 19 days to settle transactions, documents, and customs procedures for their existing shipments. After this period, no exceptions will be allowed for importing these medicines.

The Ministry had previously warned importers that this permission would only remain valid for three more months. This decision is expected to impact Afghanistan’s pharmaceutical market as well as trade relations with Pakistan.
